Unwelcome Biodiversity in Prospect Park?

Some living thing is thriving in the Prospect Park lake, now  “a breeding ground for a dangerous bacteria that’s been known to kill animals and sicken humans,” the Post claims.

“Cyanobacteria have been insidiously multiplying on the lake since the spring and now coat its surface like a sickly green oil spill,” Gary Buiso writes.

The charge was apparently led “park advocate Ed Bahlman” and “a scientist,” though he said the bacteria has not yet reached toxic levels.

The Parks Department had not returned the tabloid’s calls at the time of publication and it looks like no other outlet is picking up the story.
