Shedding Light on Energy Reform

We’ve been hearing about low energy emitting light bulbs for years, but until now, the US has made no real effort to promote them. However by the year 2014, the United States plans to eliminate “most traditional incandescent lighting” in favor of more energy efficient C.F.L.’s and halogen lamps that often burn brighter, longer anyway.

100 watt bulbs will no longer be produced after 2012 and studies have shown that 62 percent of those polled have all ready switched over to the lower energy bulbs. Although the survey did find that “around 13 percent of those surveyed said they planned to hoard standard light bulbs.”
