British Petroleum will be drilling seven new exploratory wells in the Gulf of Mexico next year, Green blog reports. The Obama administration gave the oil giant a drilling permit last week, saying “BP has met all of the enhanced safety requirements that we have implemented and applied consistently over the past year.”

This will be the first time BP will be at it in the Gulf since “the Deepwater Horizon accident, which left 11 workers dead and spilled millions of barrels of oil into the gulf,” according to the Times.
