Do you have a knack for naming? New York City’s newest park in Queens is looking for a name. The newest sliver of green is located in Queens Plaza in Long Island City. The 1.5 acres will feature wetlands and indigenous plants as well as local artists’ work.
Names should focus on the natural presence in the city as well as some of the plants or animals that may live and grow around the area.
Submissions will be accepted online at www.nyc.gov until Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. so start brainstorming! There is no reward for the winning entry- except for bragging rights, of course.
