Global warming is not only real, it is undermining our attempts at sustainability, at least according to the Journal of Renewable and Sustainable Energy.
Discovery News puts it in plain English. In a warmer world, there will be less wind. Without wind, windmills are ineffective (duh). In ten years, fuel generated by windmills will not profitable because there won’t be very much of it. It won’t cover the relatively inexpensive operating costs of wind farms.
That being said, there are positive implications of this research. Companies who were considering investing in windmills in the future may decide to invest now, while there are still profits to be made.
