Sand Art

Though this isn’t a New York based story, I thought that this was an exemplary profile of an nature artist with a twist.

Meet Jim Denevan, an artist who uses sticks, rakes, and other simple tools to create large scale drawings in the sand on California beaches. His art is fleeting though and washes away with the tide. Still, it gives him a pervasive sense of peace and accomplishment while creating it and watching others enjoy his simple lines in the sand.
