Biergarten at The Standard Hotel

Though Germany’s Oktoberfest, celebrating the coming of October has recently ended, Americans still find a way to prolong the celebrations.

Located in New York City’s Meatpacking District, The Standard Hotel features an outdoor “biergarten” equipped with two bars, long wooden tables, and benches in a nature setting.

There on weekends you can find a long line, which once you reach the front leads into an outdoor venue where beer and massive pretzels are served.

Though many may not take notice of the trees, and plants surrounding them, the outdoor setting with cool October weather surely is a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

This phenomenon seems to be common within the city. It’s a change up from an indoor bar setting, as well as an outdoor place where an open container is permitted.

Herschgarten in Munich

This is just one of many beer gardens located in New York City, and if you want to take it to extremes, visit the largest beer garden, “Hirschgarten” in Munich which seats up to 8,000 people.
