Swamp White Oaks Move To Manhattan

A story ran about a month ago marking the planting of the first trees in the plaza of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum – 16 Swamp White Oaks transplanted from neighboring states to “symbolize hope and renewal, and create a vital new green space in the heart of Lower Manhattan.” By the time the plaza is complete on the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks next year, 400 of the trees will comprise Manhattan’s newest park.
